As long as I can remember, the first day of school always felt like magic, the excitement of seeing friends after summer, the energy in the hallways, and the feeling of a fresh start. As I grew older, those experiences expanded into long days of sports, practices, and unforgettable away-games filled with bus rides, laughter, and even karaoke moments that became memories I still cherish.

One of the things that meant the most to me as a student was the opportunity to represent my district through athletics and FFA. There was always a deep sense of pride in wearing my school’s name and being part of something bigger than myself.

Academically, I was shaped by many meaningful experiences and educators who left a lasting impact. In middle school, WEB with Mrs. Narcaroti and Language Arts with Mr. Johnson helped build my confidence during an important time in my life. In high school, Agricultural Education with Ms. Haller, Strength and Conditioning with Mrs. Honea, and Writing and Rhetoric with Mrs. Anderson each played a role in shaping who I am today. A full-circle moment I will never forget was having Mr. Kornacki as both my 8th grade and senior-year math teacher.

Growing up in Marana also taught me the importance of community. When I travel and meet others from here, there is an instant connection and shared understanding. Being from Marana means carrying a piece of that community with you wherever you go.

I participated in a variety of activities throughout my time in the district, FFA, basketball, golf, and track and field. Each one taught me valuable lessons about teamwork, commitment, and perseverance. Many of those same opportunities still exist for students today. MUSD taught me that hard work is the foundation for success, and lessons of dedication, persistence, and effort continue to guide me in my career and life today.

Marana has grown tremendously, but its strong sense of community remains. From Friday night lights to everyday school moments, there is a shared pride that continues to define this place.
